Nephele (Serie with 9 works)

Nephele (Fragile).Serie with 9 works.

Installation at MESC/Brazil, 2019

A nymph is known as a deity who inhabits natural environments (mythology). Ever moving, the nymph is an image-symptom, she survives and makes a comeback from the ancient world into the 21st century. In this installation, she undergoes metamorphoses, which can be understood as a metaphor for change and transposition. The nymph’s walk is an invitation to keep the image moving, to prevent her stagnation. The image of the nymphs refers to Didi-Huberman’s image-moth metaphor in which the author advocates for treating images with consideration for their permanent opening and closing of meanings, by showing us that images and moths are both fragile and proliferating, engaged in a play of transformations and metamorphoses that resists any attempt of being assigned a finite meaning.
